Pahang FA have beaten Melaka United for the second time this season and this time in the FA Cup tie at Darul Makmur Stadium with a 2-0 scoreline. Melaka United still can’t field all their 4 imports in a match since the Super League started with Spasojević and Jeon out injured. Godwin who recovered in time from injury will marshal the defence alongside Faizal Muhamad. Amri Yahyah will take the captain responsibility from Spasojević.

In the 15th minutes, Pahang opened the deadlock when Jaewon’s cross accidentally hit Faizal Muhammad’s hand and Jae Won coolly converted the penalty beating Melaka United’s goalkeeper Fazli Paat. The closest attempt was Godwin’s header on the 27th minute that kept on rising over the crossbar.

Godwin again rose up attempting a header but it hit the post with the Pahang FA goalkeeper, Wan Muhamad beaten in the 78th minutes. Nor Azam who came in as a substitute scored a long ranged goal in the 86th minute to sealed Pahang FA’s path into the quarterfinals of the 2017 FA Cup. Melaka United next match will be played in Larkin Stadium on 9th of April against JDT in the Malaysian Super League.
