Elephants Stopped The Mousedeer’s Winning Momentum
Pahang FA broke Melaka United’s fine run with a 1-3 victory at the Hang Jebat Stadium. Playing their 3rd game in the length of 8 days, Melaka United have made some changes in their strikeforce as Spasojević was injured with Amri Yahyah leading the offense.
Melaka United started brightly and Jeon Woo Young almost headed in R. Surendran’s cross as early as the 3rd minutes but it goes wide. On the 21st minutes, Kallang Tie broke the deadlock with a left footed shot that beat the on form goalkeeper Fazli Paat who have kept 3 clean sheets in a row. Alves added Pahang’s goal tally with a glancing header from a fine cross by Davies. Pahang lead 2-0 by half time.
Fazli Paat have made some wondeful saves in tonight’s match but could not stop Sumareh’s finishing in the 56th minute. Melaka United made a double change with the introduction of Fauzi Roslan and Sergio Aguero who came back from a 5 match absences due to injuries. The change made an impact with Amri Yahyah’s half volley saved by the substitute goalkeeper, Helmi Eliza who took over Wan Muhammad’s duty due to injury in the second half. Ahmad Khuzaimi finally scored a consolation for Melaka United as he slides in to score his first goal for Melaka United. Melaka United will travel to Pulau Pinang on the 1st of March for their next match and Kedah on the 4th.’
