FELDA UNITED vs MELAKA UNITED
Felda United defeated Melaka United with a 3-0 scoreline. After a convincing draw against JDT at Jebat Stadium, Melaka United goes to Tun Abdul Razak Stadium to meet Felda United in the 13th match of the 2017 Super League. Their last encounter ended in a 1-1 draw at Jebat Stadium. Jeon Woo Young was given the captain responsibility by acting head coach, Selvamohan who temporarily took over from Eric Williams who is ill. New signing Jasmin Mecinović marshaling the centre of defence alongside Syawal.
The match started at a slow pace with Felda United drew first blood with Norshahrul Idlan Talaha’s shot saved by Fazli Paat in the 5th minutes. In the 18th minutes, Aguero’s header attempt after a fine cross from Puaneswaran from the flank. Aguero squandered another chance when he caught the defence napping but his shot was saved by Felda’s goalkeeper, Farizal Harun. 2 minutes later, Lucas Cano tapped in to score Felda’s first goal. In the 32nd minutes, Krangar’s scored Felda’s second after he broke the offside trap and placed the ball of Fazli Paat’s reach to make it 2-0. Spasojević was substituted 2 minutes into half time and replaced by Fauzi Roslan. Fauzi Roslan almost made an impact as his low cross was failed to be connected by Aguero. It ended 2-0 at half time.
In the second half, Melaka United started brightly and made Felda’s Farizal Harun a busy man as he made 3 saves in 2 minutes with attempts from Puaneswaran in 54th minutes and 2 attempts from Fauzi Roslan in the 55th minutes. In the 61st minutes, Felda countered with Norshahrul’s saved by Fazli Paat. A minute later, after a one two with Fauzi Roslan, Jeon’s shot was wide of target. Puaneswaran’s long ranged effort was also blocked by Farizal in the 68th minutes. Cellerino diminished Melaka United’s fightback when he converted a penalty to make it 3-0.
