The match was balanced until in the 33rd minutes, the on form Ken Ilso latched on a Liridon’s pass to make it 1-0 till half time.
In the second half, Kedah started their attacking groove and was rewarded a penalty kick when Ilso was brought down. Sandro converted the penalty in the 47th minutes. Aguero had another attempt at Kedah’s goal but was saved by the safe hands of Mohamad Ifwat. Melaka United’s Fazli Paat made some wonderful saves throughout the match especially when he saved Kedah’s Amirul Hisyam’s one on one effort. Sandro became the thorn in Melaka United’s defence yet again when he slotted in Syazwan Zainon’s cutback from the left flank and made it 3-0. Ilso got his brace as he finished off Sandro’s cross from a freekick in the extra time.
